What is EURplace26?
An online photo competition that seeks to focus young people’s attention on the Council of Europe / All Different All Equal values of human rights, tolerance and anti-discrimination!

Can I enter?
Yes, if you will be aged under 30 on 31st December 2007. You do not have to be a EURO<26 cardholder to enter; you do not have to be an EU citizen.

Do I have to pay anything?
No, participation is completely free.

How can I register?
Simply click on the ‘register’ button above and follow the instructions. You will be sent an email to activate your registration, after which you will receive your own login and password.

Why do I have to register?
We have had enough of spammers at EURO<26, so we will do anything to keep them out! Once you have registered you can enter the competition and also vote for your favourite photo’s. We won't use your information for any other reason.

Are there any rules and regulations?
A few. Please read them carefully when you are registering.

What’s the deadline?
The deadline for submitting photo’s to the competition is 15th December 2007.

How many times can I enter?
You may enter a maximum of three photos. If you enter more than three, we will only accept the first three uploaded.

What is the maximum file size?
The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 1MB. Please resize your image to no more than 1200 pixels in the longest dimension.

Can I send you my photos by regular post?
No, the competition is open to digital photography only, submitted online.

Can I upload a photo of my pet cat?
Well, yes – but the photo should make a statement against racism and discrimination, and promote diversity as a positive concept to a youth audience. Does your cat display these values?

Can I upload someone else’s work?
Don’t be daft. By uploading any images to this site, you are automatically assumed to be the creator and owner of the image. You may not upload images created by another person or taken from another source such as another website. Copyright violation may result in possible criminal prosecution.

When will we know who the winners are?
The winners will be announced in the first week of January 2008.

How will the winners be notified?
The winners will be notified by e-mail only. EYCA cannot take responsibility for failure to contact any entrant who has not submitted a valid email address.

Who will decide the winners?
Selection of the winners will be decided by a jury composed of EYCA partners and experts (photographers, communication experts, etc.) The decision of the jury is final and cannot be contested.

I don’t want a camera / iPod. Can I have money instead?
No cash alternative will be offered to the prizes available. Anyway, they are great prizes!

Who are the supporters behind EURplace26?
EURplace is organised by EURO<26 / European Youth Card Association, supported by the Council of Europe and Canon, who have sponsored the main prizes.

Will EYCA use my photos for other reasons?
EYCA reserves the right to use the contributed photos and author’s information (name and country of origin) for presentation and media use, and to reproduce entries for promotional purposes. The photos will not be used for profit-making purposes.
